Borui Yao studied chemistry at Jilin University and carried out undergraduate research training in Prof. Guanglu Wu’s group. On May 20, 2026, he successfully defended his undergraduate thesis. His thesis work focused on the synthesis of diaryl selenides and macrocycle-confined assembly. During his time in the group, he actively participated in research related to organic synthesis and supramolecular assembly, demonstrating strong research potential. After completing his undergraduate studies, Borui will pursue doctoral study at Tsinghua University.

In his earlier self-introduction, Borui wrote that he was interested in organic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry, and hoped to learn through research practice what scientific research is, how to do research, and how to do it well.
