On March 13, 2026, Tianyi Yang, a PhD student in our group, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, marking the successful completion of a major milestone in her doctoral training. During her time in the group, Tianyi focused on multicomponent assembly systems based on cucurbiturils, with particular emphasis on assembly kinetics and dynamic behavior.

On March 13, 2026, Hao Li from Zhejiang University visited our university and delivered an engaging academic lecture to faculty and students. Li received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wuhan University before pursuing doctoral studies at Northwestern University under the supervision of Sir J.

On December 11, 2025, Dr. Yuchong Yang was invited to visit and deliver an academic lecture entitled “From Metal–Organic Cages to Interlocked Structures” to faculty members and students in Room A409 of the Tang Aoqing Building.

On October 27, 2025, Prof. Tom Oliver from the University of Bristol delivered a talk titled “Exploring the Flow of Energy and Charge in Molecules, Peptides, and Plants” in Room A409 of the Tang Aoqing Building, at the invitation of Prof.

On October 20, 2025, Prof. Shengtong Sun from Donghua University and Prof. Ji Liu from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) were invited to visit and deliver academic talks on the cutting-edge research of intelligent flexible protective materials and bioelectronic interfaces based on functional hydrogels, respectively.

On September 1, 2025, Prof. Kang Cai of Nankai University was invited to our university to serve as a thesis defense committee member. During his visit, he kindly delivered an insightful academic lecture for our group.

On September 1, 2025, our doctoral student Jia Liu successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation and was officially awarded the doctoral degree, becoming the first Ph.D. graduate of Guanglu Lab. Since joining the group, Jia has focused on cucurbituril-based noncovalent assembly systems, making steady progress in areas such as chiral folding assemblies and binary assemblies driven by π–π stacking.

On July 23, 2025, the group warmly welcomed a familiar face—former member Shen Yuancheng, who returned to his alma mater to attend the group meeting and deliver an engaging presentation on his recent research progress in the field of heteroatom-modified polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

From June 1 to 5, 2025, Guanglu attended the 2025 Joint International Conference on Calixarenes and Cucurbiturils (JCCC2025), held in Macao. As a major biennial event in the field of calixarenes and cucurbituril chemistry, the conference brought together over 300 leading scientists from 24 countries and regions, offering a vibrant platform for academic exchange in supramolecular chemistry.
