Congratulations to Zhengkang Wang and Meng Yang on Successfully Defending Their Master's Theses

On May 22, 2026, master’s students Zhengkang Wang and Meng Yang successfully defended their master’s theses, completing an important milestone in their graduate training. Professors Lixin Wu, Wen Li, and Jinsong Yuan served on the examination committee for the formal defense.

Zhengkang Wang’s research focused on “Supramolecular Alkoxyamine Initiators for Regulating Aqueous Nitroxide-Mediated Radical Polymerization.” His work explored how supramolecular host-guest interactions regulate radical polymerization and produced systematic results in the construction and behavior control of aqueous NMP systems. Meng Yang’s thesis, “Cucurbit[8]uril-Mediated Pathway Regulation and Bicyclic Construction in Tetravalent Host-Guest Systems,” focused on pathway selection and structural construction in multivalent host-guest assemblies, leading to new progress in controlling complex supramolecular assembly.

During the defense, Zhengkang and Meng each presented the background, experimental design, data analysis, and future outlook of their research in a clear and comprehensive manner. The committee members offered valuable comments on the significance of the thesis topics, experimental design, reliability of the results, mechanistic analysis, and possible directions for future work. Both students listened carefully to the suggestions and responded thoughtfully with experimental evidence and professional knowledge, demonstrating a solid academic foundation, rigorous research attitude, and strong scholarly ability.

After deliberation, the committee unanimously approved the master’s thesis defenses of Zhengkang Wang and Meng Yang. All members of the group warmly congratulate them on this achievement, thank them for their dedication and contributions to the group’s research during their master’s studies, and wish them every success in the next stage of their studies and careers.
