The First Online Joint Group Meeting of the Supramolecular Materials Interdisciplinary Innovation Team

On the evening of March 17, 2026, the Supramolecular Materials Interdisciplinary Innovation Team held its first online joint group meeting. The meeting featured a talk by Prof. Guanglu Wu titled “Understanding and Measuring Binding Constants,” focusing on the physical meaning, experimental measurement, and data analysis of binding constants in supramolecular systems.

Prof. Xi Zhang opened the meeting with brief remarks, introducing the background and goals of this new joint discussion format. Prof. Wu then presented a species-distribution-based perspective on binding constants and discussed practical considerations for their measurement. During the talk, he also demonstrated Viabind, an ITC data-processing program developed by his group, highlighting its use in thermodynamic titration analysis and binding-model evaluation.

After the presentation, participating faculty and students engaged in an active discussion on binding-constant measurements, model selection, data fitting, and software use. The meeting provided a focused platform for discussing interdisciplinary questions in supramolecular materials and laid a strong foundation for continued academic exchange within the team.
