Congratulations to Borui Yao, Siyuan Xu, and Baiting Lu on Successfully Defending Their Undergraduate Theses

On May 20, 2026, undergraduate students Borui Yao, Siyuan Xu, and Baiting Lu successfully defended their undergraduate theses, marking the completion of an important academic milestone in their undergraduate training.

Their projects focused respectively on the synthesis of diaryl selenides and macrocycle-confined assembly, the construction of supported gold nanoparticle catalysts regulated by CB[7]-POM, and the synthesis and host-guest behavior of TIPNO-type water-soluble nitroxide radicals and alkoxyamines. During their time in the group, the three students actively participated in research training and explored frontier topics in organic synthesis, supramolecular assembly, and supramolecular catalysis, making solid progress in their projects.

At the thesis defense, Borui, Siyuan, and Baiting presented the background, experimental design, data analysis, and future outlook of their work with clarity and confidence. In response to questions from the defense committee, they drew on experimental evidence and professional knowledge to give careful, well-reasoned answers, demonstrating a strong theoretical foundation, sound research ability, and effective communication skills. After deliberation, the committee approved all three undergraduate thesis defenses.

All members of the group warmly congratulate Borui Yao, Siyuan Xu, and Baiting Lu on successfully completing their undergraduate thesis defenses. We thank them for their efforts and contributions to the group’s research during their undergraduate studies, and wish them continued curiosity, courage, and success in the next stage of their studies and work.
